Byron Haynes

He is a Principal Reservoir Engineer with Shell Oil Company with 35 years of oil field development experience.  He is currently assigned as a Lead Reservoir Engineer based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan working on the operation of the Kashagan Field.  Byron has taught reservoir engineering and waterflood courses for Shell, the University of Texas, and Satbayev University (Almaty, Kazakhstan).  He has authored or co-authored 16 papers on the various aspects of oil field development.  He has planned, designed, and implemented reservoir management methods on waterfloods in Alaska, the Gulf of Mexico, Colombia, the North Sea, Kuwait, Qatar, and Kazakhstan.  Byron is a Distinguished Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (2013) and has been a member and chair of various SPE committees.  Byron is a Graduate of the University of Texas (BS-1982 and MS-1988), is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and Alaska and is a SPE Certified Petroleum Engineer.
