General Objective: In this course we will teach the students how to clean a high-angle hole while drilling, which procedures and practices should be used for the cleaning up of a well. Also, what the practices are to make a connection in a high-angle well. How to trip or back-reaming out of the hole safely and how to respond to tight hole, and if a tight hole is encountered how to identify if the overpull is due to a cuttings bed or is it mechanically related. All these topics will prevent your well from turning into a nightmare by minimizing the risk for stuck pipe incidents.
Introduction
Module 1: Hole cleaning, tripping, backreaming differences between high-angle and vertical wells.
Module 2: High-angle hole cleaning.
Module 3: Hole clean up and tripping in high-angle wells.
Module 4: Short trip in high-angle wells
Module 5: Back-reaming in high-angle wells.
Module 6: Inside the well.
Module 7: High-angle wells connection practices.
Module 8: Quiz.
Audience: This training is ideal for engineers, company men, directional drillers, mud engineers, rig managers, and others in the industry who want to prevent issues and enhance drilling efficiency. The training will be delivered by the usage of slides, animations and videos. Industry lessons learned, rules of thumb and case studies will be shown to the students. After you finish this course, you have much better grasp on how to prevent issues from occurring on your high-angle wells and not ending up with a train rack.
Dedication: Estimated completion time, 3 hours. Including practice exercises.
